Soapbox.

the Mariners—
the 3-time U.S. Open Cup winning Sounders—
the Super Bowl Champion Seahawks—

these are the main sporting attractions in Seattle.*

However, on August 25, 2014, the eyes in Seattler were on the Red Bull Soapbox Race.

That fine Sunday afternoon featured 36 teams racing down Yesler Way in Downtown Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood.

The hay bale lined course featured turns, ramps, and jumps complete with a "car wash" of metallic blue streamers at the finish line.

Some went through the wash, while others failed to finish.

I was able to get a spot next to the jump. Even though it was a congested area, I was able to stick out my point and shoot with color print film to snap a couple shots.

These are my favorites from the afternoon.

It's always entertaining to attend a sporting event. Especially when they are unconventional. Loud cheering from sporting events will always give me goosebumps.

*note: I miss the Sonics—forever and always...until we get back what is rightfully ours.

update 9/16/14: Sounders are now 4-time US Open Cup Winners

Dana.

Dana.
I've known Dana for roughly 24 years. We've known each other since we were 5 years old—since Kindergarten.

We still talk on a regular basis. Trading stories, telling tales, giving each other advice.

Everyone needs a person like Dana in their lives. Someone who's known you for a long period of time. How long you can keep a friendship can be a good judge of character.

A few months ago we met up and she let me snap a few photos of her.
I finally got them developed...
